Baseboard installation

Often times new flooring is installed without removing the old baseboards. This seems like a fine idea but it can lead to a few other problems down the road. One problem is when the tile or wood flooring is installed it will have a gap (at least it should as all laminates require expansion) around the perimeter where the flooring meets up to the baseboard. This gap needs to be covered by another small piece of molding called shoe. The other problem that can arise is when you would like to install new baseboard but your old baseboard is trapped with tile and grout against the wall making it very difficult to remove. We offer a solution for this problem by cutting out a small section of the back of the new baseboard which allows the new molding to install over the top of the old baseboard. Some base boards may not work for this due to lack of material to work with. If you need some carpentry work done give us a call today!
